Super Bomb Survival How to Beat Bombs
Read the palette, hear the siren, and never Disarm a Grimbell.
After v3.0, Super Bomb Survival does not roll a totally random bomb every second. Each round picks a palette, so you will see a family of explosives for the whole 2:30. Learning the family is how you beat the round. This guide is the “how to beat bombs,” “how to dodge nukes,” and “how to not die to Grimbells” page. It is not a full bestiary — the Fandom wiki has 100+ rows. It is the survival literacy you need on Intense and Super Intense servers.
Use it with Intensity 6.0 and the skills catalog entries for Disarm, Blast Force, Forcefield, and Expert’s Touch.
Always-on basics
- Bomb / Classic / Pressure — beep, then explode. Classic has a little more range. Do not stand on the fuse to look brave.
- TNT Crate — heavy, fast fuse, hard to shove unless you have Heavyweight. Cannot be spawned by Skills.
- Fire Bomb — burns tiles more than it deletes terrain. Fireproof and Fire Shield answer it.
- Dynamite — needs another explosion or fire to light. Running Fire Shield into dynamite is how you grief yourself.
- Landmine / Warp Mine / Freeze / Poison / Shock mines — audio cues exist; Freeze Mine’s cue is easy to miss. Items and debris can cook them in caves.
- Homing / Chaser / Fast Homing / Wingseeker — Unseen makes the last three ignore you. Wingseekers specifically hunt Wings users.
- Black Hole Generator, Matryoshka, Piano, Discombobulator, Bass Blaster, Tornado, Bubble, Squid — knockback and status more than raw HP. Unshakeable plus not standing in the pit is the counter.
Bomb Vision (300 Credits) puts red dots on bombs through walls. Cheap, always useful, rarely equipped because people save for Wings. Put it on a farm loadout.
Nukes and Destroyers
Nuke: siren plus a red line. Mega Nuke is its own bomb, not a High Intensity skin. Destroyer / Mega Destroyer / Ultimate Destroyer are the 6.0 bullies. Driller chews terrain. Poison Nuke applies Tox. Glitch Nuke rolls a random extra effect and often mixes Grimbell logic on 6.0 — Forcefield is not a plan. Hyper Nuke and Homing Nuke belong to 10.0 / rift rounds; v4.02 gave them unique sounds, and Homing Nuke cannot be Disarmed.
How to beat them:
- Leave the island when the siren starts. Do not Forcefield-trade a Mega Nuke for pride.
- Hover, Bubble Ride, or Warp to a scrap of floor that is not on the line.
- Disarm is for classic Nukes (about 30 Skill Points) and Mega / Driller / Huge (about 50). It is not for Homing Nuke or Ultimate Destroyer.
- Heavyweight can shove a Destroyer if you are already next to it. That is a veteran tech, not a tutorial.
Grimbells are not a joke until they are
Grimbells are instant death through Forcefield, Panic Shield, and Last Chance. Disarm increases their radius. TNT Crates and Grimbells cannot be spawned by Skills. Grimseeker is a homing Grimbell. Golden Grimseeker is faster and can respawn; it is the last-30-seconds closer on rift / 10.0 rounds.
The correct play is always walk away. The “It Tolls, Nonetheless” badge is for people who Forcefield a Grimbell on purpose. 9voltage’s “Why Grimbells are a Joke” video is a tech-skill clip, not a 6.0 lesson — do not copy it on Super Intense.
Money bombs and the GOLDEN BIG BOMB
Midas Bombs spill coins. GOLDEN BIG BOMB is rare, teleports, explodes, and keeps dropping collectibles until Disarmed or the round ends. Coin-rain events raise its chance, especially at 4.0+. Disarming it makes a frown face, pays 66 Skill Points, and stops the chaos. If you are on a farm kit from the farming guide, Disarm is the Credit play. If you are on 6.0 with 8 HP, leave it.
v4 and Sky’s Bomb Survival imports
v4.02 added Darters from Sky’s Bomb Survival. Stats are not fully documented on the SBS wiki yet, so this page will not invent fuse times. Treat unknown SkBS bombs from the rift event the same way you treat a new palette: watch once, do not greed coins under them. Beam Sniper, Bass Destroyer, and the taco cloud are event wrappers more than new fuse types.
Palette and Intensity rules
At 4.0+, many bombs gain High Intensity variants (bigger numbers, nastier mines, nastier homing). At 6.0, those HI skins mostly drop out and the round just spawns larger named threats instead. That is why a 5.0 guide and a 6.0 guide disagree. Read survive 6.0 before you copy a 5.0 Disarm timing.
Loadout answers, not hero moments
- Forcefield for lava, homing, and panic — never Grimbells.
- Disarm for classic bombs, Nukes you can finish, GOLDEN BIG BOMB, and Skill Points. Not Grimbells, not Homing Nuke, not Ultimate Destroyer.
- Blast Force to yeet bombs off your island.
- Expert’s Touch so touching a bomb does not arm it (you can even ride some homing if you are careful).
- Fireproof, Gas Mask, Anti-Freeze, Shock Absorb for the elemental families.
- Lava Sponge (v4.01) if the palette has already deleted the floor and you need a tile in the lava.
Keep one bomb-literate Perk on every kit. Then stop watching the explosion and start watching the next fuse. That is how you beat Super Bomb Survival’s bombs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Super Bomb Survival questions.
Can I Disarm a Grimbell?
You can, and it makes the blast larger. Never do this to “save” a teammate. Walk away and read survive 6.0.
Does Forcefield work on Nukes?
It can cover some Nuke damage windows at high level or Supercharge. It is not reliable on Mega, Glitch, or Homing Nukes. Leave the island.
What is a palette?
Since v3.0 each round chooses a bomb family instead of fully random spawns. Learn the family, then counter it with the skills catalog.
What are Darters?
A v4.02 bomb imported from Sky’s Bomb Survival. Exact stats are still being documented. See the v4.0 update notes.
